About us

Owing to the lack of local clubs playing organised cricket within the Essex County league system, the Neo Cricket Club was launched in 2018. Group of friends from Leyton took the initiative to form a cricket club to facilitate game for the young people.

In the years to come, we are committed to providing better facilities, training and resources for talented local young cricketers to build a route for the East London children to fulfil their potential and assist the East London children. East London is one of the most ethnically diverse areas in London. 146,880 (53%) persons are from a BAME background (other than White British/Irish), compared to 58% in London as a whole. As a club we do not wish to miss out any young person with less opportunities in sports

In 2013 there were 5 leagues operating out of East London, within 5-years of this there are 12 recognised leagues and now in 2022 there are 15 leagues with over 400 teams playing. With this fast growth of cricket, Neo Cricket Club was launched in 2018 to offer our diverse community access to the game they love. We started in East London, but our membership base and community outreach has grown extensively across East London, proudly supporting programmes in Redbridge with many young people partaking.

History of Neo CC

Owing to the lack of local clubs playing organised cricket within the Essex County league system, the Neo Cricket Club was launched in 2018. There is currently no appropriate cricket facility in the borough capable of hosting quality league cricket and, as a result, talented young people from Walthamstow currently travel more than 5 or more miles to clubs such as Wanstead to get the quality of cricket they need if they are to advance. In the years to come, we are committed to providing better facilities, training and resources for talented local young cricketers to build a route for the East London children to fulfill their potential and assist the East London children.
